I absolutely LOVE to read…. read, read, read!
I have always loved it. There are few things I would rather do.
I read for information, entertainment, education, to kill time, to change my mind…
What a world of words we live in.
What a society we live in. We can read anything we want to. We can read the Bible any time and any where we like. We can read newspapers that tell us what is happening in the world. We can read books by women, men, Asians, Muslims, homosexuals, athletes and serial killers.
We have the freedom to make up our own minds. We can even change our minds if someone writes convincingly.
I have learned about World Wars, ancient Japan, Renaissance Italy, vampires and Hogwarts. I have learned about politics, popular culture, nutrition and religion.
I have read about other cultures/societies that would not allow me to be what I am or learn what I like.
How fortunate for us that everyone in our country has access to free education regardless of sex, race, etc….. Education is the key.
Rule # 48- If you can read this, if you can access any information you need, if you can form your own opinion, if your Bible (or other book of Faith) is close to hand, if you have access to a library full of free books…. Be grateful!!!!

I am grateful dear Queen. I have always loved to read as well. It really started for me with the Nancy Drew series as a little girl. After that I was hooked. Still looking for that certain series for one of my Knights but know it is out there somewhere.

Another sublime rule! I sit here before two walls of books, collected over a lifetime. At home I read mostly on this machine. I keep books in the Jeep for meals and waiting rooms.
I was educated in science, but I love the language. One professor, the head of our group, once said that language was as important as the research, because the science was of no use unless clearly communicated. So, we need not be poets to be grateful for words.

A very wise professor indeed.
I use my kindle a lot but still fall back to paper books for comfort.
I just can’t imagine what I would do without books/reading.
Thankfully, I don’t have to live like that.
One of the greater skills in life is taking something complex and hard to understand (science) and putting it into words that make it understandable to others.

I also love to read and have read to my kids since they were born. My grandpa told me when I first learned to read, “If you can read, you can learn to do anything”.

and that is exactly the beauty of it!

That’s funny…. The Pirate Redbeard said the same thing to me when he read this Rule. Welcome to the Queen’s World. Do I know you?
