Have you been shopping lately? The stores are awash in Halloween candy. It’s everywhere. Well, everywhere except where the Christmas decorations are out.

That’s right; Christmas decorations. Insanity I tell you!

It is October, People! We need to get our priorities/schedules/body clocks all worked out here.

Problem one is the candy. You can’t put it out so early that we eat it all before Halloween and end up in the store on Oct 31 paying double for the crappy stuff that’s left over. Some of us (I won’t name any names!) have very little self-control when it comes to candy corn, mini butterfingers and Hershey’s bars.

Thus, Rule # 35- Halloween candy will not be put on display until 1 week before the actual day. Violators will have their teeth pulled!

And yes, I said the Christmas stuff is out. This is insane. It makes me want to skip it altogether. It is a season…. not a quarter. Christmas starts the day after Thanksgiving and ends on January 2. I don’t know why this is so hard to understand. Get it together!! How is Christmas supposed to be special if we spread it as thin as butter scraped across toast?

Rule # 36- October and November get Fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving. December has Christmas all to itself.

Carry on!
